mutable landscapes artist statements:

parallax by lawrence english + bureau infetel

exploring the physical implications of sound, parallax, an installation exploring the notions of found sound objects, questions the ways in which people, landscape and buildings effect and are effected by the sound environment which surrounds them. it calls attention to how these experiences in a given environment can be manipulated to create a different form of perception and awareness. created at the junee roundhouse, the work explores the residue of industrial space, utilising objects found onsite to create sound spaces which transform the extremes of noise created by the working roundhouse into a more considered and reductionist sonic experience.
